Day 12: The unnecessary amount of boxes containing old papers and artwork in my basement are a visual reminder that I keep more than I need to. But sometimes it pays off, and old art can become new again. This image started as just the background, a watercolor landscape sketch of a park in Baltimore, painted back in 2007ish when I went to school at MICA. Fast forward to 2011 when I created a cover for my church's advent devotional called "The Coming of David's Greater Son." I found the landscape sketch and added the figure and donkey with gouache to illustrate Zechariah 9:9
Behold, your king is coming to you;
righteous and having salvation is he,
humble and mounted on a donkey,
on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
